About Us

Our Direction

To help the forgotten and forsaken return to benefiting society; return to full communion with God and in turn help other forgotten and forsaken with re-entry. This is accomplished with the help of those who are blessed with God-given Charism and financial prosperity. All involved will realize Salvation and hear "well done, good and faithful servant"

Beginnings
The phrase "Transcending Mediocrity" has been Steve Odo's handle since the early 1990s, while employed with the U.S. Navy Department of Defense and heavily involved with the Navy's Total Quality Leadership program. Steve began to see the potential in people and organizations, but when left dormant, led to a life of mediocrity (just average). Thus began the birth and journey to create a non-profit organization to "help people help themselves transcend mediocrity."

Our effort is to help individuals and non-profit organizations realize where they are and where they are intended to be. Then when asked, we help them develop their vision and mission and the strategies to awaken their slumbering potential and transcend their mediocrity to be where they are intended to be.

Vision

Enliven

Faith-based communities,

so each member evangelizes

lifestyle.

What influences our daily decisions:

Led by the Holy Spirit and rooted in Scripture, we help people help themselves transcend mediocrity (when they want to and when they want our help). We do not accept remuneration from the people we help. Philanthropists contribute to support our Vision and Mission.

Method
We accept no remuneration or recompense from the people we serve.  (1 Cor 9: 16-23)

16 If I preach the gospel, this is no reason for me to boast, for an obligation has been imposed on me, and woe to me if I do not preach it!  17 If I do so willingly, I have a recompense, but if unwillingly, then I have been entrusted with a stewardship.  18 What then is my recompense? That, when I preach, I offer the gospel free of charge so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel.  19 Although I am free in regard to all, I have made myself a slave to all so as to win over as many as possible. 20 To the Jews I became like a Jew to win over Jews; to those under the law I became like one under the law--though I myself am not under the law--to win over those under the law.  21 To those outside the law I became like one outside the law--though I am not outside God's law but within the law of Christ--to win over those outside the law. 23 All this I do for the sake of the gospel, so that I too may have a share in it. 24 Do you not know that the runners in the stadium all run in the race, but only one wins the prize? Run so as to win.

Plan:  Itinerant “Intrepreneurial” Couple

We live in different parishes, 3 to 4 years, focused “inside-out” to assist with the formation of Parish Lay Ministries.

-  Raise and form Christian servant-leaders, who in turn raise and form other servant-leaders.

-  Form parishioners in social justice, for the common good.

    • Activities are rooted in Catholic Social Teaching; Catechism of the Catholic Church; United States Conference of Catholic Bishops; Holy See; Scripture
